What are the guidelines regarding created horses' pedigrees?

Answer:

Horses cannot be created with 'Unknown' or 'Created' pedigrees. You must list a sire, dam, and damsire name that are realistic based on naming guidelines for the breed. They don't have to be Real Life horses, and horses with SIM pedigrees aren't considered any worse or better than those with RL pedigrees, but all horses must have some form of pedigree to be listed as a purebred in the MHR. Any form that comes in with Unknown/Created parents will be changed to 'Grade' in the MHR.

The only exception to this is within breeds that do not have a way of confirming pedigrees. For example, Mustangs or Chincoteague Ponies that have been captured from the wild. In these cases, the parents must be listed as 'Unknown', rather than 'Created'.
